The Rainbow Tick is a confidence mark that signals businesses and organisations have reached a high standard of diversity.
The Rainbow Tick programme, a new service helping New Zealand businesses and organisations become safe and inclusive for staff and customers of diverse sexual orientation and gender identity.
A large number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, takatāpui, transgender and intersex employees in New Zealand feel obliged to hide their identity at work. Evidence from overseas shows this has clear negative implications for career development, attracting and retaining talent, workplace morale and overall productivity.
Based on current international best practice, the Rainbow Tick has already been taken up by a range of New Zealand businesses and organisations including AUT, Coca-Cola Amatil, Sky City and ASB.
Rainbow Tick will also be releasing the findings of local research into the number of New Zealanders who feel obliged to hide their identity at work.
